Tribological and aging behavior of hybrid Al 7075 composite reinforced with B4C, SiC, and TiB2

In this study, B4C+SiC/B4C +TiB2/SiC+TiB2 hybrid reinforcements were added to Al 7075 matrix via the powder metallurgy method. The powders subjected mechanical grinding for 240 min, as shown in graphical abstract. composite structure produced by was then placed a vertical casting chamber and molten (main matrix) obtain samples. Samples dissolved 1 h at 480 ?C, aged 120 ?C 4-h increments (32 total). After aging process, wear behavior of samples investigated. FESEM images examined microstructural analysis, hardness plots created depending on time after solutioning treatment. friction coefficient, volume loss, worn surface investigated determine structures. Results showed that increased reinforcement rate size type directly affected behavior. experiments, highest resistance obtained sample 3% B4C + SiC 12 aging.
